The Finn has finally conceded defeat of hoping to defend his 2007 World Title. Kimi Raikkonen had a glimmer of hope as he was slated to finish in fifth position when he tried to pass Glock on a turn, turned disaster and crashed into the wall

“It was a pretty small chance anyhow, I’m not sad for my fifth place but I’m sorry for the team to lose those points. But for sure we’ll try to do better next race. I am not used to giving up and I will do my very best to try and help the team reach its targets. I know what the team wants - they want to win the world championship. We will see what happens.

I’m trying to win races too and we will see what happens. I’m out of the championship anyhow. I was trying to attack Glock in case he might make a mistake but I went slightly wide at the chicane, jumping over the kerb, and when the car landed I lost control and ended up in the barriers. Clearly, morale is not high today”

He was four laps from the finish when the accident happen. The turn has a slight curb which hurtled his car upwards and after that Raikkonen just lost control of his F2008 F1 racing car

With Hamilton (84 points, 1st) picking up points from his third place finish at the Singapore GP, the Finn (57 points, 4th) is 27 points behind Hamilton

Hi my name is Sha. I run this Formula One fansite blog. This is not the official Singapore GP website, their link is here. My first real memories of watching TV, when I was young was recalling vivid images of my sporting heroes like Ayrton Senna. With the Singapore GP debuting in my country, I decided to setup a fun blog on F1
