Such a freak accident where the 16 times GP title winner fell from the third floor of his London residence.

The 80 year old was expecting the lift, but a malfunction jammed the carriage, but somehow the lift shutters opened.

The British motor racing legend fell some 30 feet down.

He was hospitalized with broken ankles, gashes and four chipped vertebrae.

For the clueless Moss is “the greatest driver never to win the World Championship.”

Pedro de la Rosa comments on the refueling ban

This season the refueling ban will come into effect by FIA, and I predict it will really change the dynamics of how the race will be.

Sauber’s Pedro de la Rosa was quoted recently that the refueling ban will change F1 strategies.

Pedro de la Rosa further explained, “It will be very interesting to see how the strategies unfold, and how the teams will react to each other’s strategy in the race. Due to the fact that refueling isn’t allowed anymore, the team can influence the outcome a lot more.”

So does this means even the new F1 teams have a chance with the big boys.

I reckon so, if they play their cards right.

Mercedes-Benz has announced that this year’s safety car will be its new SLS AMG.

The SLS AMG will be the fastest Formula One safety car in history.

The high-performance SLS AMG is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 200 mph (figures are provisional.)

Felipe Massa says he dont need glasses to drive his F1 car

It is reported that Ferrari’s Felipe Massa requires glasses when driving his F1 car.

And that the need for it was caused by his previous 2009 accident where his helmet was struck by a flying spring in Hungary, and affected his vision.

Well the Brazilian has refuted such claims.

He was quoted, “No, I just have a little bit of myopia (short-sightedness), so I just wear them when I’m driving in the evening and when I’m watching a movie. I prefer to read better what’s written on the screen. Usually for racing, also at night, it’s ok.”

I guess all F1 driver needs a 20-20 vision to drive well.

It sure would be a challenge if one need a glasses when in a F1 cockpit driving in an excess of 230mph eh!

Pffttt after all this hype of the USF1 team, and new constructors on the grid, this is such a disappointing news.

FIA has officially announced that USF1 team will not race in the 2010 season.

With the defer, USF1 are willing and need to pay a 7-figure sum to FIA as penalty and compensation.

FIA also announced that is not possible for a replacement team to take its place.

This will rule out Stefan GP intention for a 2010 slot.

I mean what’s the rationale behind that, I just don’t get it.

The Serbian-based Stefan GP already has drivers and cars waiting for the green light only.

Pffttt … F1 politics, I shall never understand them.

You can tell from the body language, despite him saying Nicole won’t be able to make it, he wants her there.

Eddie Jordan speculates on Stefan GP future

Eddie Jordan, the BBC pundit have been known to said plenty of controversial things, you can add this one to the list.

It’s unconfirmed of course, but the former F1 driver said Stefan Grand Prix will be at the F1 opening season in Bahrain come March 14th.

Jordan was quoted, “My understanding is that they will be in Bahrain with ex-champion Jacques Villeneuve driving. Don’t be surprised if the backer of US F1 – YouTube founder Chad Hurley – joins up with Stefanovich”

Well I do hope the USF1 debacle will be put to rest soon, as we want to know the complete list of constructors for 2010.

If Stefan GP indeed was given the green light, that means Villeneuve would become the fifth world champion on the 2010 grid, alongside Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Lewis Hamilton fastest in Barcelona

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton snatched a psychological boost by being the fastest on the last day of testing in Barcelona, as F1 approaches its season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14th.

The young Brit clocked the fastest time ever in the four days of testing day by the drivers, with a time of 1 minute 20.472 seconds.

He was just a fraction faster than Red Bull’s Mark Webber, who was close behind in second place himself, with a time of 1 minute 20.496 seconds.

With less than half a second between the fastest eight drivers, it goes to show the top teams means business, and that can only mean good things for the spectators as everyone are on equal footing, and it all boils down to race skills for the win when the race begins.

From the pre-season testing so far, Ferrari leads the pack, followed by Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes with Williams and Sauber trailing behind.

Nico Hulkenberg fastest in Barcelona for Day 2 tests

Williams team was rejoicing that their rookie driver Nico Hulkenberg was the fastest on day two at Barcelona.

The pre-season test saw the young German upstaging home favorite Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari.

Hulkenberg was quoted, “We’ve had a good test here. P1 today is nice but means nothing, to be honest. We’re not in Bahrain yet! It’s positive for the team, and for me, to know what the car can do though. We did a lot of setup work today and have found some interesting things, so I feel ready and confident to go to Bahrain now.”

For Saturday, new drivers will be up for the tests.

Rubens Barrichello replaces Nico Hulkenberg, Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock, for the Lotus and Virgin teams respectively.

Sunday is the last day of testing.
