Formula One Game

Formula One Game

Formula One Game

Coming this autumn, play the most anticipated motor racing game!

F1 2009 is an upcoming video game based on the motor racing series with the same name and the 2009 Formula One season. It will be released in (northern hemisphere) Autumn 2009 on the Wii and PlayStation Portable and is the prequel to the 2010 video game based on the same series.

The game was confirmed by Codemasters on May 9, 2008. The game engine is based on the Ego Engine that Codemasters used on both the Colin McRae: Dirt and Race Driver: GRID games.

This is the first time since EA’s F1 Challenge ’99-’02 that an F1 game has been on multiple platforms as Sony previously held the rights to F1 and only released games on their own platforms; PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3.

The game will feature the circuits that are on the 2009 calendar including the Marina Bay Street Circuit for night racing and the new Yas Marina Circuit.

The game will also feature the KERS concept, as well as slick tyres. There are 15 driver aids each switchable on and off for first time and hardcore players.

Game Trailers

On September 1, 2009 Codemasters released the first gameplay footage showing the Wii version at the Valencia Street Circuit. Codemasters also announced that they would release a Formula One-style wheel with the Wii version; the Wii controller will slot into this.

F1 2009 is due to be released on 27th November 2009 according to the websites of Game and Gamestation, even though the game was advertised on these website as coming out on the 25th September; however other shops quote different dates including some in October, and November.

Some people are a bit upset that it was not going to be released on xbox 360 and ps3 or another year but this game does look good for ps3 and wii.

About

Hi my name is Sha. I run this Formula One fansite blog. This is not the official Singapore F1 website, their link is here. My first real memories of watching TV, when I was young was recalling vivid images of my sporting heroes like Ayrton Senna. With the Singapore GP debuting in my country, I decided to setup a fun blog on F1. Thanks for visiting ... more »
